Who Should Use This Ball?
For the average player who wants a soft ball that they can "feel", and that provides good distance off the driver/long irons due to its low compression and low spin ratio.
This is a 2-piece golf ball that is long and soft. It’s the longest ball Wilson has ever made and one of the softest ball's on the market. Its true performance value and distinctive feel set it apart from every other distance ball. This "soft" ball has good feel but it has a low spin ratio on short irons, which doesn't provide as much control.
The Wilson Staff "Duo" gets its name because of its two strengths: (1) Long off the Tee (More control due to reduced spin off the driver), and (2) Soft around the Green (Softer feel for improved playability around the greens).
According to Wilson, 8 out of 10 golfers who try Duo, switch.
The Duo earned a "Silver" medal in Golf Digest's 2012 Golf Ball Hot List in the $20 and under per dozen price range. According to Golf Digest, "Wilson increased the amount of pure rubber in the large core to boost velocity and lower the compression. The goal was to reduce driver spin and enhance feel and spin around the green. A seamless cover with a 302-dimple pattern is designed to improve lift."
Wilson Golf's premium line of golf equipment is Wilson Staff.
